A New Found Love – The Crochet Cup Cozy with Bottom
You know, I never really paid much attention to those crochet cup cozies I’d see people posting on social media. They seemed like cute little accessories, but nothing more. That is until I had multiple requests to turn my Montero Coffee Cup Cozy into and Ice Cap Cozy. Seems it was time to design my very own crochet pattern for these cozy wonders.
The first thing that struck me was how incredibly nice they feel in your hands. I mean, seriously, it’s like holding a cloud or a marshmallow. The softness and texture are just so satisfying. I couldn’t resist the temptation to create something that could provide that level of comfort to others.
Then, it hit me—the practicality of these cozies is off the charts! Have you ever had a drink with too much ice, and your hands start freezing? Well, fret no more, my friend! These crochet cup cozies act as a shield against the icy cold, keeping your hands dry and toasty warm. It’s like having your own personal hand warmer right there with your beverage.
But wait, there’s more! These cozies are like the Swiss Army knives of the drink world. Not only do they keep your hands cozy, but they also moonlight as coasters. Imagine sitting outside, inside, or even in your car, and having a convenient little coaster for your cup. No more worrying about those pesky rings on your table or trying to balance your drink on uneven surfaces. It’s a coaster on the go, my friend!
And let’s not forget about the fashion statement these cozies make. With my very own crochet pattern, I can create an entire collection of cozies in different colors. It’s like a rainbow party for your drinks! Plus, when you’re hanging out with friends and family, everyone can have their own unique cozy, making it super easy to identify whose drink is whose. No more accidental sips from the wrong cup!
Who knew something so simple could bring so much joy? I’m hooked, my friend, and I don’t plan on letting go anytime soon. Hope you all love this pattern – be sure to share your makes on Instagram and tag me @prettydarnadorable

Substituting yarn
When substituting yarns for a crochet pattern, it’s crucial to keep the gauge as close as possible to the original yarn. Gauge refers to the number of stitches and rows in a given area of the crochet fabric, and it affects the size and shape of the finished project.
If the gauge of the substitute yarn is significantly different from the original yarn, the project’s feel and look may be affected. To ensure that the finished project looks and feels as close to the original design as possible, make a swatch with the substitute yarn and compare it to the original yarn swatch to match the gauge.
Be sure to visit www.yarnsub.com to help you choose the right substitute.
