Colour Ideas for the Brookside Cowl
One of my favourite things about this pattern is how well it works with different colour combinations. It looks good no matter how simple or bold you want to go.
Classic and neutral
Use two similar neutral tones like cream and taupe, grey and charcoal, or beige and white. This gives a clean, everyday look that works with almost any outfit.
Two tone contrast
Choose a light main colour with a darker contrast colour, or the other way around. This really shows off the texture and makes the stitch pattern stand out.
Solid colour
You can absolutely make this cowl using just one colour. It keeps the look simple and lets the texture do all the work.
Fun and colourful
If you want a more playful look, try using more than two colours. This is a great way to use leftover yarn or create something with a more fun, funky vibe.
Matching sets
This pattern works well for matching or coordinating sets. You can keep the same colour combination across sizes or switch them up slightly for each person.
Brookside Cowl – Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Brookside Cowl beginner friendly?
Yes. This is an easy crochet cowl pattern that works well for beginners. If you know basic stitches like half double crochet and slip stitch, you’ll be comfortable with this pattern. The repeat is simple and easy to memorize.
What sizes are included in this crochet cowl pattern?
The Brookside Cowl includes instructions for four sizes: toddler, child, teen, and adult. Each size is written out separately so there is no resizing or math required.
