Free Crochet Cloche Pattern with Bow For Girls and Women

Keep cozy with this free crochet cloche pattern with bow. It’s that time of the year when we are all starting to get ready for the snow.

As winter approaches, it’s important to be prepared with warm gloves, scarves, hats, and coats. This crochet cloche pattern will keep you cozy and makes for a perfect Christmas present.

Crochet Cloche Pattern Instructions

SKILL LEVEL 

Easy

ABBREVIATION

  • ch – chain
  • dc – double crochet
  • rsc – reverse single crochet (optional)
  • sc – single crochet
  • st – stitch
  • sts – stitches
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • rpt – repeat

MATERIALS

  • 6.5 mm hook
  • 5.5 mm hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Stitch Markers
  • 75g – #5 Bulky Yarn (I used Bernat Softee Chunky #5) 
  • Small amount of contrast yarn for bow (I used Patons Divine)

MEASUREMENTS/SIZING

3-10 Years – 20” x 7 1/2”

Teen/Ladies – 22” x 8 1/2”

BOW DIRECTIONS 

Using 6.5mm hook ch 15

Row 1 – 12:  Hdc in 1st st and each st across, ch 2 turn

After row 12 fasten off and weave in ends.

Wrap yarn around middle of bow tie knot and weave in ends

Using tapestry needle and yarn sew bow to hat.

Crochet Cloche Pattern

3-10 Years  20” X 7 1/2”

Entire hat will be worked in continuous rounds.  Be sure to use stitch marker at the beginning of each round for easier counting.

Using 6.5 mm hook ch 2 

Rnd 1: Work 7 sc in 2nd st from hook (7)

Rnd 2: 1 Sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next and each st around (13)

Rnd 3: (dc, sc) in 1st st and each st around (26)

Rnd 4: (dc, sc) in 1st dc, *sk next st, (dc, sc) in next dc* rpt from *to* end of rnd (26)

Rnd 5: (dc, sc) in 1st and each st around (52) 

Rnds 6 – 15: (dc, sc) in 1st dc *sk next st (dc, sc) in next dc* rpt from *to* end of rnd (52)

Change to 5.5 mm hook for brim

Brim

Rnd 16: Sc in first 3 sts, *2 sc in next, sc in next 3 sts* rpt from * to * till end of rnd

Rnd 17: Sc in first 4 sts *2 sc in next, sc in next 4 sts* rpt from *to* till end of rnd

Rnd 18 – 22: Sc in 1st and each st around

Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Rnds 7-16: (dc, sc) in 1st st dc *sk next st, (dc, sc) in next dc* rpt from *to* end of rnd (56)

Change to 5.5 mm hook for brim

Brim

Rnd 17: Sc in first 3 sts, *2 sc in next, sc in next 3 sts* rpt from * to * till end of rnd

Rnd 18: Sc in first 4 sts *2 sc in next, sc in next 4 sts* rpt from *to* till end of rnd

Rnd 19 – 24: Sc in 1st and each st around

Fasten off and weave in all ends.
