Thanks so much for supporting my blog!

Every year my sister and I have a tradition of gifting each other a new ornament for our Christmas trees. This tradition goes as far back as I can remember.

The past few years the holidays have been so busy that I have gotten a wee bit lazy and bought a pretty one from the store. This year though, I am making her a bunch of these.

Shhhh… if you know her don’t tell! 😊. I am also making a few for the boys to put on the tree with little treats and maybe a little money 😉. That is, if they stay on Santa’s good list!

The Yarn

This crochet stocking pattern is completely flexible, it was written using Loops & Threads Charisma because I had so many scraps on hand. They worked perfectly for these crochet stocking ornaments.

Want to use your own yarn?  Check out www.yarnsub.com to see if it is a good substitution. Just remember it really doesn’t need to be the same gauge as used here.

Substituting Yarns

These sweet little Christmas stockings can be made in any yarn you like. Just adjust your hook accordingly and remember when you change the hook and the yarn the size will change as well.

This is the perfect project for using up your yarn scraps. Use any yarn and any hook size. Consider using faux fur at the top of the stocking for a little fuzzy cuff.

Or scale it right down with worsted weight yarn and a small hook to make a cute little broach or fridge magnet this pattern can be so much more than a Christmas ornament.

  1. You lost me when doing heel. It’s says change to cream, then do a row 1, then another Row and add cream, what is the right side of stocking?

  2. Hi Anna sorry you are having issues – try refreshing or clearing your cache sometimes this will do the trick.
