Yarn Chosen for Crochet Heart
I chose to make these sweet crochet hearts using Yarnspirations Caron Cotton Cakes in Grape Jam.
The Caron Cotton Cakes by Yarnspirations is a great choice of yarn if you are beginner.
- This yarn has some grip which allows for great control over your yarn.
- Benefits of working with cotton but less splitting than with some tradition 100% cotton yarns.
- Large ball is great for many beginner projects.
- Recommended hook size is 5.00 mm – I use a 4mm crochet hook for this pattern
This crochet heart pattern is great for using up scrap yarn. I used 6 grams for my hearts so grab your scrap pull out a food scale and you may find you get to crochet up the tiniest of scraps!

Use stitch markers to mark the beginning of each round. This is a must for beginners!
Stitches in brackets eg (sc, ch 2, sc) are all worked in one stitch.
