THE YARN

When I first designed this we were in the midst of a really really cold winter. The kind of winter that the cold winds just rip through knit and crochet hats. There was no doubt that I was going to need a super warm yarn for this hood.

The reindeer hood in the photos is made from Loops and Threads Cozy Wool and is also great made in LIONS BRAND WOOL EASE THICK N QUICK a super cozy yarn that offers great warmth.

If you are looking for a yarn that isn’t quite this warm there are many others that will work great. BERNAT SOFTEE CHUNKY for more substitute yarns check out www.yarnsub.com this website is fantastic for finding yarns to use in your projects.

In a pinch two strands of worsted weight yarn held together will also work great. Keep in mind your hood may come out a bit larger so you may want to make a size smaller.
