This adorable crochet baby hat pattern is perfect for crochet newbies, photo props and shower gifts.

Snuggle your little bundle in this soft and fuzzy teddy bear hat. Thick, lofty, and super warm, this adorably plush earflap hat is as cuddly as a real teddy bear.

Because it uses simple stitches and an extra bulky yarn, it’s extraordinarily quick to whip up. An average crocheter can actually make this hat in a little over an hour!

It makes a wonderful baby gift for that brand-new boy OR girl. It’s a delightful photo prop, costume, or even an everyday hat that’ll keep those peach-fuzzy heads toasty warm.

Who Can Make This?

This adorable hat is perfect for beginner crocheters. It is made using thick yarn and a big hook so you can make it very quickly without taking too much time.

The result is so cute you won’t be able to resist making it especially if you are new mom. This is when I learned to crochet when I was 7 months pregnant with Christian (now 14) and I have never stopped!

If you are just starting to crochet a strongly recommend the yarns below.

Using hook, draw the folded ends through the stitch from right to wrong side. Pull the loose ends through the folded section and draw the knot up firmly. Repeat for next two stitches.

Braid to last 3 inches. Using a piece of yarn about 12 inches long, tie and knot leaving one long end to wrap around braid. Wrap yarn around braid several times and then use tapestry needle to weave end through.
